If you or anyone you know needs some announcements please send them my way! Its only $10 for the digital announcement that can be printed. I also have printing services if needed.
I bought most of these prints months and months ago. Today I finally got them all framed and hung on the walls. Hanging them was tricky. We live in an old house and the wall is not flat and it is slanted. The floor is also a huge slant. So they are not even, but I don't really care. I'm just glad they are finally all hung up!
The four large frames (3 above the bed and one above the nightstand/shelf) I got at Michaels Craft Store today. I bought mattes for three of them, the one came with a matte. The three 5x7 frames I got at the Dollar Store. They were an ugly color so I painted them black with acrylic paint. I also cut mattes for them.
Artwork Info:
The large birdcage print is an original screen print I made.

I have been selling through eBay and Etsy for awhile now. I have learned a lot about shipping packages.Today I am going to share my experiences/advice with you. I'll also be posting my favorite shipping supplies and how to ship from home.
There is a shipping center close to my home that I have been using to ship my packages for a year or more. It is a small family owned business. I use them because they are so close to home and I never have to wait in a line. They use all kinds of shipping companies so sometimes it is helpful. However, the past few months I have noticed my packages are never the same cost. I only ship in the US and my tiny packages would sometimes cost 50 cents and others they would charge several dollars. I began to take notice of my bills and saw they were charging my for a large envelope when I was using small envelopes.
<!--more-->I decided I would only use the Post Office. Well, the first day I decided to change my shipping location I walk into the Post Office and the line was all the way to the doors. The next time was the same. But I did learn something very important.
Tip: When writing addresses on envelopes with a clasp, always write the address so the clasp is to the right or left of the address, not above. When the mailing address & envelope are horizontal they charge you for a small envelope. When it is vertical it is considered a large envelope! The price is about 50 cents different. That can really add up.
So now I have decided I will be doing all my shipping from home. Through USPS.com you can print postage and put your package in your mailbox. When your mail person comes they will pick it up. No more post office!
Unless you ship flat rate, the first thing you'll need is a scale. Kitchen scales seem to work best because they are in ounces and are more affordable than a scale made for shipping. I decided to go to Target to get mine.

I first got one that was not digital. I got it because it was the cheapest at $15. Well I got home and put a package on it and couldn't figure out exactly where the needle was pointing to. When shipping the weight needs to be correct. So I returned that one. Then I got the one shown above. It is a Chefmate 3-in-1 digital scale. This one was more money, $30, but it also has a clock which I needed in my sewing room. Plus its digital and thats just how much money digital scales are.

Next, you will need things to ship your items in and make them pretty. I'm big on packaging. I love getting my package and it has cute tapes and pretty tissue paper or bags inside. I ship my things in plain brown clasp envelopes. Because these are just paper I always put my products into pretty little plastic bags (as shown in my photo above). These will protect them if they get wet. I've gotten all of mine at Target - can't you tell I'm a big Target fan! I find mine in the $1 section, the card section, and the seasonal baking section (they make little candy/cookie bags). I also use decorative tape on my envelopes. My favorite is Cram Cream, a Japanese brand. You can find their products on eBay as well as other decorative tapes.
What tips & tricks do you have for mailing packages?
It was 70 degrees today in Maryland! I think that is a record for this time of year. It was beautiful out so I put Bella in the car and off we went. We went to the Homestead and walked around. She enjoys snooping around in the grass and plants and I take photographs. I decided to start selling my photos on etsy so I listed several prints for sale. Go here to see them all.
These ID Holder Keychains are now for sale in my store. These have a clear pocket on the back to hold your id/license and a closed pocket on the front to hold money/etc. They are $10 with free shipping. You can buy them here.
These make a great gift for a student or children.
I have added new products to the store today. 6 new birth control cases, or card cases, and 2 tote bags. I made the totes awhile ago with ribbon handles, but they weren't selling so I remade them with interfaced gray polka dot fabric. The BCP/Card cases are $6 and the totes are $16, everything has free s&h. Go here to visit my store.
There are six new tissue holders in my shop. These are great for keeping tissues neat inside your purse or pocket. They come in six different colors, are fully lined with a matching fabric, and come with pretty decorative tissues. They are $6 with free shipping to the United States. If you are interested in buying go here.
